About the Role

An employer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Frontend to build the core of expressPay services and APIs. This role involves translating UI/UX designs into code, ensuring the technical feasibility of designs, and optimizing the application for speed and scalability. The engineer will collaborate with designers and stakeholders to define the application's appearance and functionality.

Responsibilities

Develop new user-facing features.
Build reusable code and libraries for future use.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders.
Create, edit or modify templates for a CMS or web development framework.
Ensure that all user input is validated before submitting to the back-end.

Requirements

2 to 5 years working experience in Web Development.
Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
Proficient understanding of how to utilize PHP to filter, process and output html, json, xml.
Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX.
Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Sketch or Photoshop is a plus.
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
